Two Republican-friendly Florida congressional seats could give the GOP some breathing room in the narrowly divided chamber. But Democrats in both districts have far outraised their GOP counterparts, and national Republicans have been publicly concerned in particular about the race to replace Mike Waltz, now Trump's national security adviser.

Former Florida state Sen. Randy Fine will win the special election for an open House seat in Florida’s 6th Congressional District, according to a projection from the CNN Decision Desk. The result means a sigh of relief for Republicans after late concerns emerged over their candidate’s efforts in the overwhelmingly conservative district.

In the Sixth Congressional District seat vacated by Michael Waltz, now President Trump’s national security adviser, Randy Fine, a Republican state senator, will face Josh Weil, a public-school teacher and Democratic candidate.
