Earth being flat might just be a conspiracy, but in Lord of the Rings, a flat earth was just a fact at one point in Middle-earth history.
With a circumference of about 40,075 kilometers, the Earth’s curvature is spread out over such a vast area that it’s nearly impossible to detect at ground level.
Therefore, most of Beleriand only exists on some maps of Middle-earth. The maps in question are the earlier ones, since most of Beleriand had disappeared by the time of Jackson's Lord of the Rings.
