A 7-year-old girl died after being struck by a falling boulder at a ski resort near Lake Tahoe in Nevada, officials said.

A 25-year-old snowboarder from Corona, California, died Saturday at Kirkwood Mountain Resort near Lake Tahoe, authorities said. The Alpine County Sheriff and Coroner’s office identified the man as Roman Lacayo and said he died from a major head injury sustained in an accident on the mountain.
