In recent weeks, Apple has been unable to escape headlines about its slow progress with everything having to do with Siri and artificial intelligence. The company has officially delayed features first promised last June intended to modernize Siri and give Apple a much-needed boost in the AI race.

There’s little doubt that Siri hasn’t lived up to most people’s expectations. The once-promising voice assistant has entirely failed to reach its potential, and while Apple made us believe that iOS 18 might finally be the moment that everything changes, it’s starting to look like Sir’s problems may be more serious than we thought.

After facing delays and suggestions that an improved Siri would arrive with iOS 18.5 later this spring, it appears we may not see Siri 2.0 until later this year, possibly not until 2026. The tech blog Daring Fireball received a statement from Apple today implying that we wouldn't see the next Siri until the release of iOS 19.
