Signage will display both the old and new designations for several months to help ease riders into the transition.

SEPTA will change the names of some of its bus routes from letters to numbers. But don’t worry, riders. For now, both the letter and number will appear on timetables and bus signage.

SEPTA is providing information on how to get into the city to celebrate, as well as SEPTA bus detours and station closures.

SEPTA says six of its buses will change from lettered routes to numeric designations. SEPTA's metro lines will also adopt a new system.
