CHICAGO (CBS) --Building a safer Chicago block by block; the city's new "Take Back the Block" program is going on throughout the summer to help uplift neighborhoods impacted by gun violence.

Mayor Scott announced that the “Buy Back the Block” program has distributed over $750,000, making homeownership a reality for more than 60 Baltimore residents.

Binghamton is one of five communities selected for the Block by Block Infill Housing program, which provides up to $300,000 for single-family homes and $400,000 for two-family dwellings.
