Police say a woman told them a man in a red car crashed into her parked Jeep. The woman says the driver came to her door and showed her his ID. She says he asked her not to call police. As she started dialing 911, she says the man got back in his car and drove away.

The district attorney says Moises Cruz, who drove through a red light before he hit a Susquehanna Township police SUV, died in the crash.

Deputies were called Friday night to a crash at the intersection of 34 and 39 roads in Haring Township, near Cadillac, the report said. A Jeep Cherokee traveling on 39 Road didn’t stop at a stop sign and struck a GMC Yukon traveling on 34 Road.

Police said the two were in a 2007 Honda Accord that was reported stolen out of Bridgeport earlier in the morning.

Waterbury Police put out this video to highlight the work that’s being done by the city’s auto theft task force and the dangers those are officers facing. Since the start of this year the task force has tracked down 31 stolen cars around Waterbury— which is down from 94 on this same date last year.
