The Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube controller released the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2 console (June 5, 2025), and is available to buy now for $64.99 / £58.99 / AU$89.95.

At that point, Nintendo Switch Online members (and only members) can purchase the GameCube controller for an unspecified price. Only one per user will be sold.

As noted by Nintendo, this controller will only be compatible with the Switch 2 and won't work with the original system.
