Experts are monitoring a disturbance off the U.S. Southeast coast that has a low chance of forming within the next week.

There’s a new tropical storm in the Atlantic Ocean, and two other disturbances that have a shot to get names as well. The National Hurricane Center named Tropical Storm Dexter late Sunday while it was several hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina. Dexter is headed away from the United States, however.

Dexter was a tropical storm in the North Atlantic Ocean Tuesday afternoon Eastern time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Dexter is the fourth named storm to form in the Atlantic in 2025. It was not expected to be an immediate threat to land.
