Speaking on NBA Today on Thursday, ESPN NBA insider Ramona Shelburne shared with Malika Andrews that the vibes around the Phoenix organization were downright horrendous this week, going so far as to describe the locker room atmosphere as "toxic" after all the Beal, Butler and Durant rumors.

The NBA trade deadline drama surrounding the Phoenix Suns reached a boiling point, with tensions rising amid swirling rumors. After trading Jusuf Nurkic to the Charlotte Hornets, the spotlight remains on their star trio of Devin Booker,

The Phoenix Suns are between a rock and a hard place right now. Since new owner Mat Ishbia took over, the team has made drastic moves to improve their chances of competing for a title. First, it was the trades for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal in quick succession,

Due to his struggles on the floor, Beal has been a trade candidate all season long, despite him having a no-trade clause in his contract. Durant also appears to have been close to getting dealt to the Golden State Warriors,

“I’ll use ‘toxic’,” Shelburne said, describing the Suns’ locker room after a tough trade deadline that saw most players floated in deals. “That shootaround, I heard, was very awkward, very weird because everyone was on pins and needles wondering what they were going to do.”

In the final days leading up to the NBA Trade Deadline, there was quite a bit of talk surrounding a trade that would send Kevin Durant back to the Golden State Warriors.
