Online mode was first introduced in Mario Kart Wii, but Mario Kart 8 didn't make many changes to its formula. It allows 12 players to join in online matchmaking, but aside from that, there's not a lot to it to make the online mode more interesting than racing against CPU opponents.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been officially unveiled, and I think that Nintendo has already shown off the first game that's coming to its new console - Mario Kart 9.

Nacon’s Switch 2 lineup features several accessories similar to what’s been available for the original Switch for the past seven years. These include carrying cases, screen protectors, silicone wraps, USB-C chargers, and even tiny steering wheels for individual Joy-Cons for using motion controls in Mario Kart.
