An SFU student has found a metre-long exotic snake that was spotted slithering around Burnaby Mountain on Monday.

City parks staff are asking the public to keep their eyes peeled for a ball python spotted on Burnaby Mountain, and it’s likely one of many.

The python is a non-indigenous species that is not venomous or considered dangerous, it's unclear how the snake got to the mountain.
