I've run Debian WSL2 images and they work fine for 90% of stuff, but the integration between Windows and Linux isn't perfect and Windows is still the "primary" OS.
It a great little tool. I believe it's called LTOOLS GUI or something. It uses java and crates what looks like windows expolorer but for the linux drive, while in windows.
