The U.S. Department of Labor had announced the nationwide pause on 99 Job Corps campuses across the country on May 29, 2025.
In late May, the U.S. Department of Labor said a "pause" on its Job Corps program would go into effect by the end of June.
In December 2024, the Biden administration’s Department of Labor instituted a similar pause in operations at two of the Job Corps centers, amid concerns of issues and rising program costs.
The review also identified safety issues at the residential campuses ... the Trump administration did not have legal authority to suspend Job Corps because it was created by Congress.
