With good data on the building heights, we exported the map into a 3D environment built using the javascript library three.js. The map contains a number of 'layers,' similar to a cake.

ViziCities was set up by London-based developers Peter Smart and Robin Hawkes. They use open source maps to create 3D models before adding layers of data on top.
