Grand Valley State University announced Tuesday that it has hired Daniel Lindstrom, a 20-year FBI veteran, as its new director of public safety and police chief following a nationwide search.

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI -- A man with 21 years experience with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has been selected as the next Grand Valley State University police chief.

Before coming to the decision of hiring former Lowell High School wrestling coach R.J. Boudro, Grand Valley State University Athletic Director Keri Becker was looking all over.

Those range from 26.3% increases to both Eastern Michigan University and Western Michigan University, to a 23.4% increase to Grand Valley State University.
