Miller was able to button that inning up quickly, but labored after that, giving up the go-ahead run in the third when the Red Sox again led off with a base hit, as Cedanne Rafaela singled and then stole second—Boston’s second stolen base of the game already—and then came home on a double from ancient enemy Alex Bregman.

The Seattle Mariners scored twice in the first two innings and held on to post their second straight win, beating the host Boston Red Sox 4-3 on Thursday afternoon.

Bryce Miller (1-3) allowed four runs, five hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings. Seattle lost for just the third time in 11 games.
