It's now a little easier for drivers on Prince Edward Island to be cleared of demerit points for driving infractions. Drivers on the Island start with a clean slate and no points on their license.

I was unable to stop at a stop sign on my bicycle, and I got a $110 ticket. The officer who gave me the ticket said I would not get any demerits on my licence.

The government is cracking down on people who use hand-held cell phones while driving. Starting in the spring of 2015, drivers caught in the act will soon lose four demerit points instead of three.
