A gunman opened fire at an adult education center in the Swedish city of Örebro on Tuesday, killing at least 10 people in what the country’s prime minister called the “worst mass shooting in Swedish history.

Sweden's right-wing government said on Friday it would seek to tighten gun laws in the wake of the country's deadliest mass shooting at an adult education centre where the attacker appeared to have used several of his own licensed rifles.

Officials in Sweden have vowed to determine why a man killed 10 people, and apparently himself, in an unprecedented attack that's shaken their "society to its core."

The king and queen visited the scene of the tragic event that occurred on Tuesday and Swedish flags were flown at half-mast to honor the victims.

Swedish news outlets identified the shooter as Rickard Andersson, a 35-year-old from Orebro, the city where the shooting occurred, although the police have not publicly confirmed that.

"There was blood everywhere," 16-year-old Linn told reporters at the scene of what has been described by Sweden's prime minister as the worst mass shooting in the country's history.
