If there’s one thing Italian-Americans know how to do, it’s elevating a cheesy dish with even more mouth-watering cheese.

After a few seconds of rinsing, let the cheese drain for a moment, and you can add it directly to your recipe or lay the cheese shreds out on a towel (or paper towels) to dry completely.

Spread one with chutney and top the other with the cheese filling. Lay the ham and cornichon on top, if using. Put the chutney-spread piece of bread on top of the cheesy piece, buttered-side up.
