This suits the commonly available Arduino shields which combine a 16×2 character LCD with a set of four tactile buttons in a cross formation.

It was reported on the Discord channel that the custom characters for a LCD display do no longer work. As far as I know, every Arduino C++ project has trouble with custom characters at the moment.
