The Arch User Repository (AUR) is a community-driven repository for Arch Linux users, containing package descriptions known as PKGBUILDs.

You can see this as a sort of best-of-both-worlds scenario, and it’s one you won’t find with non-Arch distributions—unless you make use of a brand-new tool called LURE, or Linux User REpository.
