The database has tracked 403 billion-dollar disasters in the U.S. since 1980, totaling more than $2.945 trillion in damages.
For example, reinsurance company Swiss Re reported April 29 that global insured losses in 2025 are on course to reach $145 billion, with a 5% to 7% annual growth rate.
The database, which will reportedly contain information about both U.S.-born and naturalized citizens, will use data pulled from the Social Security Administration and immigration databases.
