Ada, a programming language born in the late 70s, has managed to break into the top 10 of the TIOBE Index for July 2025.

We aggregated data from nine different rankings to produce the ZDNET Index of Programming Language Popularity. Here's which languages came out on top and what to make of this information.

For example, as Jansen pointed out, the 50th most popular language on the index (ML) had a score of 0.14% in December 2022; this year, the 50th most popular language (ActionScript) sits at 0.24%.
