Paz died Saturday evening as a result of a fatal shooting at the Walmart in Monkey Junction where he worked. Susie Burket said Paz was like a family member to both her and her husband Rick Burket.

The suspect in a fatal shooting at the Walmart in Monkey Junction made his first appearance in court Monday morning. Judge Richard Russell Davis ordered Dean Michael Newman, 35, held without bond. He is charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
