Former Palm Desert High School pitcher Travis Adams is on the way to making his debut in the major leagues after being called up Friday by the Minnesota Twins.

Travis Adams was sitting at his CHS Field locker Thursday when St. Paul Saints pitching coach Jonas Lovin approached him with a baseball and a pen. “He goes, ‘Hey, could I get a big leaguer to sign this ball?

The Twins on Friday recalled right-hander Travis Adams from Class AAA St. Paul and added him to the 26-man active roster. He will be available to make his major league debut tonight against Toronto at Target Field.
