Police identified on Tuesday the individuals involved in a possible murder-suicide that happened in far northeast Dallas earlier this month. In a news release on May 9, Dallas police said officers responded to a shooting call in the 11600 block of Audelia Road about 6 a.m.

According to Tyler Police Department spokesperson Andy Erbaugh, the man committed suicide in the parking lot, located at 100 Independence Place. He died as a result of the gunshot. Due to the proximity of the incident to Tyler Legacy High School, Tyler ISD was notified.

Dallas police responded to a shooting around 10 a.m. Monday in the 9600 block of Greensprint Drive, Dallas police said in a press release. Investigators determined that John Faulkner, 82, shot Sharon Faulkner, 81, before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the release states.

In April, nearly 650 children went to the Houston hospital in the Texas Medical Center for reasons including depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. In a typical month, Texas Children's says it receives around 450 pediatric behavioral health patients.

The Texas Senate on Tuesday passed bills related to zoning hearings, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and the power grid.
