A NEXT Weather Alert will be in effect for the Philadelphia region for a chance of a few severe storms on Thursday night.
While CT has a chance for scattered thunderstorms on Thursday, storms won't be nearly as widespread as a large portion of the country is seeing.

The rain is expected to persist in the area overnight Saturday into Sunday. The weather service stated that the rain could cause river and creek levels, which have already increased due to storms earlier in the week, to rise even further. Some creeks and rivers could reach minor flood stage by Friday night into Saturday.
