A NEXT Weather Alert will be in effect for the Philadelphia region for a chance of a few severe storms on Thursday night.

While CT has a chance for scattered thunderstorms on Thursday, storms won't be nearly as widespread as a large portion of the country is seeing.

Much of North Texas, including the Dallas-Fort Worth region, could see strong to severe storms Thursday morning.

The rain is expected to persist in the area overnight Saturday into Sunday. The weather service stated that the rain could cause river and creek levels, which have already increased due to storms earlier in the week, to rise even further. Some creeks and rivers could reach minor flood stage by Friday night into Saturday.

The NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook for northeast Georgia, Piedmont North Carolina, Western North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Severe storms battered islands in Greece for a second day Tuesday, with Crete experiencing the heaviest rainfall. Authorities on Paros and Mykonos, meanwhile, worked to clear overturned cars and debris following hailstorms and torrential downpours.

A flood watch is in effect for portions of Middle Tennessee Wednesday through Sunday. Some areas could receive eight inches of rainfall, which could lead to major flooding.

Severe storms hit the Southeast on Monday, while thunderstorms and damaging winds stretched up to New York’s tristate area. More are forecast for later this week.

According to the National Weather Service, severe storms are expected to move into the region Wednesday night, bringing along potentially damaging winds, tornadoes and large hail.
