NHL: Yaroslav Askarov will be available Monday when the San Jose Sharks face the Detroit Red Wings at SAP Center

General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Yaroslav Askarov from the San Jose Barracuda in the American Hockey League (AHL). This is his first recall to the Sharks.

Yaroslav Askarov, one of the NHL's top goaltending prospects, was called up Monday by the San Jose Sharks in a move that had been expected since the start of the season. Askarov, 22, played well for the Sharks' AHL affiliate in San Jose.
