Polish police say the death toll in Poland from recent floods has risen to nine after two more bodies were found.

While the water levels of rivers in Poland are falling again, the country's authorities are taking stock of the victims and damage from the devastating floods. Nine bodies have been found so far, police chief Marek Boron said following a Cabinet meeting in Warsaw.

The Polish interior minister announced that a total of PLN 622.8 million (EUR 146 million) has already been mobilised to address the ongoing flood crisis.

Deaths from massive floods in southwest Poland this month have risen to nine, police said, reporting two more bodies found in the clean-up. At least 26 people died across central Europe in the worst floods to hit the region in at least two decades this month.
