Juan Soto is still adjusting to playing for the Mets but he may have turned a corner Saturday, coming through with a clutch, two-run double.
During the rain delay the Mets put Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers up on the Citi Field big screen in center field. Fans who would have been huddled in the concourse during a standard rain delay came back out to watch the action from the covered seats.
At some point between the 98-minute rain delay and Friday’s final pitch at Citi Field, which Luis García delivered moments before the clock struck 1 a.m., Mets manager Carlos Mendoza pulled every lever available to him.
