Jorginho has joined Flamengo as a free agent after leaving Arsenal. The Athletic reported on May 21 that Arsenal and Flamengo were in talks over Jorginho being able to join the Brazilian side early ahead of their participation in the Club World Cup.
Arsenal says the club is in talks with Thomas Partey to extend the midfielder’s contract while confirming the departure of a slew of other players including Jorginho and Raheem Sterling.

Jorginho is set to undergo a medical at Flamengo on Friday ahead of sealing his departure from Arsenal. That’s according to GE Globo, who report that Jorginho will arrive in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of Friday before undergoing a medical.
Arsenal have taken up the option to extend Albert Sambi Lokonga’s contract by a year. That should enable them to sell him this summer for a reasonable fee. Sevilla had an option to make last season’s loan permanent but have not taken it up. Lokonga’s preference would be to remain in Spain.
