Ford Motor lost its lead in electric vehicle sales to crosstown rival General Motors during the third quarter, as the automaker’s EV growth slowed.

Ford Motor Co. reported that U.S. new vehicle sales were relatively flat in the third quarter, rising 0.7% to 504,039 vehicles.

Ford’s stock veered lower Wednesday, after the automaker reported a nice increase in third-quarter electric vehicles sales in the U.S., but not quite the growth of its fellow Michigan-based rival.
