“Fauzia was held captive by a Palestinian Hamas-ISIS member for years,” said the head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s digital diplomacy division, David Saranga. “Now, she has reunited with her family. Her story is a reminder of the cruelty faced by Yazidi children who were taken by force. Some 101 Israelis are still held hostage in Gaza.”

A Yazidi woman who was kidnapped by ISIS terrorists at age 11 and then held by Hamas for a decade has been rescued by Israeli forces in Gaza after a months-long operation led by the US, officials said.

Fawzia Amin Sido, 21, was freed after more than four months of efforts that involved several failed attempts due to the difficult security situation resulting from Israel’s war in Gaza.

Sido is said to be in good physical condition, although she is mentally traumatised after spending all these years in captivity, Iraqi officials said.
