Although "The Penguin" premiered on HBO and Max on September 19, HBO has switched things up for the rest of the season. "The Penguin" takes us back to Matt Reeves' version of Gotham City to tell a new story set within the city's criminal underworld.

The new episode of The Penguinfeatures a flashback scene set in Arkham Asylum — and the prison uniforms and visiting room we see are both exactly the same ones we saw in The Batman, the 2022 Matt Reeves film that The Penguin spins out of.
