it is worth it, but you'll have to leave early to be back by 2 you can catch a mainline train which will take an hour and then catch Puffing Billy up to Emerald Lake and come straight back …

There is no payment that I am aware of for feeding the local birds... although it is advisable to purchase seed for them, rather than bread which is too processed for them. :)
