How far and strenuous is the walk from the parking area to the arch? Could someone elderly do it? I have a group 70-80 year olds, some with hip problems. We'd love to do a group photo under the arch but I'm not sure if they could make it.

I don't think anyone who has had a hip replacement could make it up there. It's not a strenuous walk but it is pretty much straight up and there is no real trail other than a well used path. …
I don't think anyone who has had a hip replacement could make it up there. It's not a strenuous walk but it is pretty much straight up and there is no real trail other than a well used path. But you could get a picture of your group from the parking lot, maybe if someone stood on the opposite side of the highway or down from the parking lot (which is a pretty good size). The arch is literally right off the highway.
