Valley Falls is a city in Jefferson County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 1,092. Valley Falls was originally called Grasshopper Falls, from the falls in the Grasshopper River. The first settlement was made there in 1854, and the town was platted in 1855. Many of the town's streets were named after women pioneer settlers.
