Hi, We didn't go into the Castle - just walked around the estate but I think you do have to have a ticket to go into the castle itself before you can access the coffee shop (it's inside the Castle courtyard) I might be wrong about this. There is a mini bus in the car park very close to the ticket office and this will take you up to the castle (very steep to walk) so if your mum has limited mobility there shouldn't be a problem. Really not sure about access to the coffee shop - sorry... We just went for a walk around the estate and garden.
