Sept 22 2024 I stopped at this rest area after clearing the border from Canada. I found a ring in the truck parking area. If you lost a ring, message back, and hopefully, I can get it back to you.Full review by Daryl C

It's a nice little state park. Easily accessible, free to enter, and has a paved walk to the waterfalls. There is a small gift shop available too.Full review by Hatzlacha

You have to go within half a mile of the Canadian border, and very near to the border crossing stations, but NO, you don't have to go into Canada. As you approach the border crossing heading north on highway 61, you take a left turn into the visitor center for the Grand Portage State Park and park your car. From there you can enter the visitors center building, or walk along the paved trail up to the falls. Less than a mile from the parking lot. It's a wonderful walk and the view of Great Falls is awesome.
