We rented canoes and a cabin for two nights- the cabin was very close to the main building so a quick drive over. Canoeing down the river on a 5.5 mile float was fun. It was my first time going, the …Full review by JenniferM731

We paddle boarded on July 20, which is late in the float season; we found the river to be low in places but had a good trip. It was almost too low then and the river level has dropped since. There is a great website that has an interactive map that shows current water levels and float conditions. Search 'Buffalo River floating conditions' and look for the website: ar.water.usgs.gov>BuffaloRiver You can click on diamond shaped icons that show water levels. We went from Bakers Ford to Gilbert and the river level was 4.2. Buffalo River Outfitters do have some cabins with Jacuzzis and, while we didn't stay in one of those, based on my experience, I bet they would be very nice. The cabins are in a good location because they are a short drive to both Tyler Bend Visitor Center, where there are hiking trails and river access and to Grinder's Ferry, which is an easy place to access the river. If you do go, DON'T forget water shoes.
