Go in the wet seasons when you can go in a mokoro canoe down the canals the elephants create by walking through the tall grasses. Amazing place to be.Full review by M6983QDmarcom

We went in October and it was dry, less vegetation and good viewing. I am told the nights can get cold in July/August. Got this from the internet:- The Okavango Delta, Moremi and Chobe are Botswana's most popular parks. The best time to visit them is from May to September, during the Dry season and winter, resulting in more moderate temperatures. In addition, the Okavango is flooded from June to October.

Hi! We are going to the Okavango in July and are trying to decide on a mokoro company, a plane/helicopter company etc. We are looking for a great experience, but also bang for our buck (not looking to take expensive tours with huge profit margins for rich companies). Any suggestions? Thanks a lot for any help you can provide! Matt

We booked through Natural World Safaris (NWS). Letaka Safaris ran the actual safari in Botswana. Look at their web sites for info and ideas. NWS has a fantastic website. Ours was a camping safari, pit toilet and bucket showers. But gourmet meals and unbelievable access to the wildlife. We were always viewing wildlife. If your goal is seeing the animals of Botswana, a camping safari is the best option. For me it was very exhausting but I would do it again in a heartbeat!
